Before the storybook,
there was a real little fish.

One day, while fishing offshore of Charleston, South Carolina, Joey Cagle’s boat encountered a baby blue marlin. It was so small it fit in the palm of his hand, with its beautiful sail already showing.

They carefully took a quick photo, admired the little fish, and released it back into the ocean to grow.

That moment inspired Marlie Blue, and a reminder at the heart of her story: even the biggest fish once started small. Big things really do begin with one little try.
